Terms & Conditions

ISM charges tuition fees annually to cover the full costs of tuition, exercise books, loan of text books and participation in the sports, CAS and extra-curricular activities programmes. We usually charge separately for individual music lessons, as a contribution to the Outdoor Pursuits programme, or for special language instruction.

Boarding fees include the full costs of boarding care, accommodation, food, laundry and medical services provided by the school nurse or school doctor.

There are reductions on tuition and boarding fees for 2nd, 3rd and subsequent children in a family who are currently enrolled in ISM in classes other than kindergarten; these are 5%, 10% and 20% of the figures above respectively.

Fees are established in US Dollars. The figures given above in Tanzanian shillings are calculated here using an approximate exchange rate of US$1 = TSh /- and are subject to fluctuation with the exchange rate. The School uses mean Bank of Tanzania rates on the day of receipt to calculate conversion between US dollars, TSh and other currencies.
Click here to convert to other currencies or receive today's guideline exchange rates.

Parents of children in Kindergarten may defer payment of the Capital Development Fee and Deposit until their child joins P1.

The tuition and boarding fees shown above are fees charged for a full year in advance. There is a small additional charge applied to fees paid quarterly or in other instalments.

Methods of Payment

We can accept payment of fees by any of the following means:
  • By bank transfer in TSh, US$ or £ Sterling transferred to an account in Tanzania,
  • By bank transfer in convertible currencies to bank accounts in the USA or the UK.
  • By TSh cheque delivered to the school.
  • By US$ check drawn on a bank in the USA or in Tanzania, or by £ Sterling cheque drawn on a bank in the UK or in Tanzania. We cannot accept non-Tanzanian cheques delivered by mail.
  • By personal payment in TSh, US$ or GB£ at either our Moshi or Arusha campuses.
