Parent Meetings
Bob Woods, ISM's Director, will be holding parent meetings on both campuses in the next few days. All ISM parents are welcome to meet with him on Thursday, 10th September at 1:30pm on the Arusha Campus, or on Tuesday, 15th September at 5pm on the Moshi Campus.

Outdoor Pursuits - Pare Mountains Trip
On September 12-13, the first main Outdoor Pursuits trip of the school year will take place in the Pare Mountains south of Moshi. The trip is aimed at older secondary students who are new to the school or the OP programme and who want to get involved in OP. It will be a 2 day trip walking up the Pare Mountains and camping on a ridge at the top before descending down the other side the next day. This is a steep level one trip not suitable for M1s.
Applying to University
A number of events are coming up in the near future designed to help students choose universities for their applications and future studies:
Wed. Sept. 16, 3:00pm - 7:00pm - UK College Fair at Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha. ISM will organise a bus from Moshi to Arusha for students in D1 or D2 who are interested. 16 UK universities will be represented: Aston University, Bangor University, Cardiff University, City University London, Middlesex University, University of London School of Pharmacy, University of Bradford, University of Bristol, University of Buckingham, The University of Edinburgh, University of Glamorgan, University of Nottingham, University of Warwick, University of Kent, London Metropolitain University, University of Birmingham.

Wed. Oct 21 - visit and presentation at ISM - University of Alberta, Canada
Tues. Oct 27 - visit and presentation at ISM - Lynn University, Florida USA
Library Open Day
On Wednesday, September 9th, the ISM Library is inviting parents and teachers for tea, and the opportunity to browse through the new books that have arrived in this year's shipment. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet the librarians, Tahera, Hilda, and Mr. Mayo. The new books will be ready to sign out and on display throughout the library from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. It is hoped that this event will further encourage literacy and the use of the ISM library. We look forward to seeing you. Karibu!
M5 Leadership Symposium
From Wednesday 9 September until Friday 11 September, M5 students from both campuses will be attending the ISM annual Leadership Symposium. This
two-day event aims to introduce and develop relevant themes within the area of leadership. We expect it will provide a challenging opportunity for M5 students to learn and practise leadership skills. The symposium will offer students a variety of activities, from small-group hands-on workshops to whole-group plenary talks, which present variations on the same theme: being successful leaders and team-members. In addition, ISM Arusha Campus students
will have an orientation to boarding. There will also be games and social activities. ISM Arusha Campus students will be staying at Kishari House.

Idd Holiday
This is a reminder that there will be no classes on Monday/Tuesday, 21st/22nd September in clebration of Idd el Fittr. There will be a trip for boarders to Pangani during the long weekend. Classes will resume on Wednesday, 23rd September.
Secondary Sports Day
The secondary sports day on Friday, 18th September, is fast approaching. More details in next week's newsletter.
