Secondary News

Karibu!

This week, we welcomed Aurora Lopez to our M2 classes. We’re very happy to have Aurora and her family join ISM and hope she enjoys being here as much as we do!

IGCSE Mock Exams

Next week, the S5 students will sit their IGCSE mock examinations. This is a difficult and strenuous task for them, and all of us are trying to support them in their efforts. They are ready, a little nervous, and a little eager to get started. We encourage all parents and students to wish them well and help them in their studies and examinations. Good luck to all the students!

Primary News

Dear Parents,

Primary Perspectives T.V - An Evening’s Viewing

A celebration of learning involving all 123 students at ISMAC!

What an achievement and warm sense of accomplishment for our students and teachers. I hope you were able to make connections with the work the students are doing in and out of the classroom to the way in which we approach teaching and learning in our school. Heartfelt congratulations go out to everyone who was involved in making this show the success it was. The feeling of pride when we witness our students, your children!, being risk-takers, effective communicators, knowledgeable, well balanced people is a credit to us all.

Thank you to our ISM community who supported this very challenging yet meaningful culminating event. We are in the process of coordinating DVDs of the performance which you will be able to purchase from school within the next couple of weeks. Also, stay tuned for the next edition of the Summit where you will be able to read our students reflective comments.

A welcome change of mind

It is with excitement that we are able to report to our ISM community that Ms. Kara Kirby will now be staying on as part of our primary teaching team in the new school year. Congratulations Kara! We look forward to having your family continue to be apart of the ISM community.

Primary ECAs

Primary ECAs commence next Monday! If you are not sure what ECA you are in, please have a look on the board outside the office or ask you class teacher or Mr Schofield.

Recorder Ensemble

Recorder Ensemble is starting next Tuesday at 12.30pm. Any student who can play 5 notes is welcome to join. Don't forget recorders!

Coffee Morning - Reading with your children

On Wednesday 6th February we will be holding a Reading in the Primary Classes workshop for parents. During this time Mr. Marcello Mongardi will share with you strategies and techniques you can use to assist your child with reading. You will then be invited to try out some of your new learning in the classrooms with the children. I hope you will be able to attend this very valuable opportunity to further support your child with their reading both inside and outside of the classroom.

Happy Australia Day for Saturday 26th Jan! to all our Australian families.
