Dear Parents,
Healing Garden
Today the school dedicated the healing garden in front of the performance area to Leebeth Armon. The healing garden was a project that Leebeth worked on in community and service with last year's M1 class. The hope was to encourage the understanding and use of natural healing processes. At the centre of our school it will remind us every day of Leebeth. She has and always will be a big part of our community. A memorial plaque was unveiled at an assembly of the entire student body and school community.

Karibuni tena!Welcome back to the last term of the school year. It's a busy one: full of exams, M4 work experience, M3 class trip, plenty of OP trips, and more. We have some fresh faces to individually welcome back, too. Joining M3 class is Cristian Sierralta, joining us from St. Petersburg, Russia. All of us send a warm welcome to Cristian and his family. Returning to M4 class is Apphia Armon. We all are very glad to see Apphia back and send our very best wishes to her and her family. IGCSE Exams
The S5 students have just finished their first IGCSE exam! They had a grueling two-day examination in Art and Design …and now can cross one off their list. Coming up next week is the French oral examination (Thursday), and the English as a Second Language oral communication examination before the end of April. There are also some non-S5 students taking IGCSE examinations in Dutch and German, and they will begin these in April as well. It's an important and challenging process, and we wish all the students the very best of luck and great success.
OP trips
Outdoor Pursuits trips have begun again, with a level 1 trip scheduled for this weekend. Safari njema to the M1 students and teachers who'll be slogging up the wet slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro. I'll be joining them …I hope the M1 students are good at pushing!! A level 2 trip follows next weekend, with more trips through the month. Good luck to all the climbers.

Head of Secondary Primary News
Dear Parents,Welcome back to the final term of this school year. Did you know that in primary?
PYP Exhibition
In the final year of the PYP, students participate in a culminating project, the PYP Exhibition. This requires that each student in P6 demonstrates engagement with the 5 essential elements of the programme; Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, Concepts and Actions. It is a trans disciplinary inquiry conducted in the spirit of personal and shared responsibility. It is a summative assessment activity that is a celebration of students moving from the PYP into MYP. The Exhibition represents a significant event in the life of a PYP school and student, synthesizing the essential elements of the PYP, and sharing them with the whole school community. It is an opportunity for students to exhibit the attributes of the learner profile that have been developing throughout their engagement with the PYP. There will be a PYP Exhibition meeting for parents of P6 students on Wednesday 23rd April at 2pm in Natalie Croome's classroom. The P6 students will share their understanding of their Exhibition Research with you on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 May. Betty Brown Head of Primary Sports News
Sports Day! A big Thank You to all parents and students for a great event. Congratulations to all houses and house captains for their excellent spirit and participation. Outdoor Pursuits
Safari Njema! to all those attempting level one this Saturday and Sunday. The bus leaves Arusha at 7:30am from the Bella Luna on Saturday morning and returns Sunday at approx. 2:45pm to the same location.
ECA
Dear Parents,Please find attached the ECA list for term 3. Activities start on Monday April 14th and finish Wednesday May 28th, making this a 7 week program. Please note: London Academy of Music Arts and Drama (L.A.M.D.A) will start the first Wednesday back, April 9 for the Wednesday group and Monday April 14 for the Monday group. Instructor Heather Lockhurst welcomes new students, so sign up to take part. There are 2 mixed soccer leagues planned for this term. Teams will be made and games played Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at lunch from 12:30-1:00pm. The first is for P2-P4 with Mr. Curley and is included in the ECA list on Wednesday. The idea here is to practise skills on Wednesday during the ECA time with Mr. Curley in preparation for playing games Thursday lunch. Teams will be drafted next week by secondary "coaches" and a league will play throughout the 7 week ECA term. The second league is for P5-M4 with Mr. Schofield. However, a session for players is not included in the ECA list like it is for the P2-P4s. Instead, a session for an 'executive committee' is included in the ECA list on Monday. The idea here is to get, ideally, a boy and a girl from each year level, P5 to M4, to help administer this league. P5/6 will be joined with M1 to make teams and M2-M4 will do likewise. Games will be played on Monday and Wednesday at lunch. Charles Schofield | Available on the web... |
