Moshi Primary News: 12 October 07

  Dear Parents,

Yet another newsletter written to you all from England where I am sure the temperature is considerably cooler than in Moshi. Many thanks for the e-mails I have received from you offering your thoughts and good wishes at this time. During my absence I have been receiving regular updates from Ms. Rosi, David, Steve Jones and others on everything that is happening at ISM so rest assured I have not felt left out. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to (for any reason), or see Ms. Rosi or Mr. White at school if you have any concerns.

Idd el Fitr

As I am sure you are all aware the students have been finding out about the Muslim festival of Ramadan to help foster a greater insight into and understanding of the role of this festival in the Muslim culture. At ISM, through the PYP, we aim to provide an awareness of different religious and cultural perspectives in our efforts to promote international-mindedness in our students hence the current focus on the festival of Ramadan.

I have been informed that the P1/2 students have compiled interview questionnaires and used these to interview various Muslim members of staff about Ramadan and Idd el Fitr. I am looking forward to seeing their work that has been displayed outside Room 15 when I return to Moshi.

P3/4 Art Attack

P3/4 is the class who have contributed to this week's Newsletter. Please see the PDF file attached for their contribution.. [Further pictures from the P3/P4 Art Inquiry can be seen by clicking here.

PYP Curriculum Corner

Ms. Rosi's PYP curriculum corner news is also attached as a PDF file.

I hope you all enjoyed the Idd assembly on Friday and that you have a restful and well deserved half term break.

Regards
Kathy Slocombe
Head of Primary
